Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut	Your adventure begins at Marangu Gate, where you’ll complete the registration process and start your trek. The trail leads through a lush rainforest, home to diverse flora and fauna. After a 4-5 hours hike, you’ll reach Mandara Hut at 2,700 meters. Here, you’ll rest for the night in a comfortable hut, enjoying a hot meal, and preparing for the next day’s journey.
Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut	On the second day, you’ll continue from Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut. The trail ascends through the moorland zone, offering stunning views and unique vegetation, including giant groundsels and lobelias. After a 5–6 hour hike, you’ll arrive at Horombo Hut, situated at 3,720 meters. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Mawenzi and Kibo peaks as you acclimate and rest.
Day 3: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut	Day three involves a challenging trek from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut. The trail passes through the Alpine Desert, characterized by sparse vegetation and a harsher climate. After trekking for 5–6 hours, you’ll reach Kibo Hut at 4,703 meters. Here, you’ll prepare for the final ascent to the summit, resting and hydrating in anticipation of the midnight start.
Day 4: Kibo Hut to Summit and Back to Horombo Hut	The highlight of your 5-day Marangu Route Kilimanjaro climbing adventure begins at midnight. You’ll start your ascent to Uhuru Peak, passing through Gilman’s Point and continuing along the crater rim. After reaching the summit at 5,895 meters, you’ll descend back to Kibo Hut for a short rest, then continue down to Horombo Hut. This day involves 13–15 hours of trekking, making it both the most challenging and rewarding day of your journey.
Day 5: Horombo Hut to Marangu Gate	The final day of your adventure involves descending from Horombo Hut back to Marangu Gate.
